Description:

This seminar includes a clinical presentation with patient interview followed by a research presentation.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the anatomy and physiology of the umbilical cord
  • To explore the research about the effect of cord clamping on the health of the newborn
  • To understand the role of placental transfusion in newborn transitional physiology
  • To explore the potential conflicts between cord clamping, cord blood-derived stem cell harvesting and cord-derived stem cell harvesting
