Monday, October 16, 2017

4:00 pm to 5:30 pm

MDCL 3020

  • Dr. Kjetil Ask, associate professor, Department of Medicine; director, Demystifying Medicine Seminar Series
  • Dr. Todd Hoare, associate professor, Department of
    Chemical Engineering at McMaster University

Learning Objectives:

  • Present an overview of shared cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in progression of fibrotic disease
  • Understand how circulating monocytes and activated macrophages have emerged as a therapeutic target to prevent progression of fibrotic disease
  • Give the audience an appreciation of the multiple considerations associated with the design of a nanoscale targeted drug delivery vehicle
  • Impart technical knowledge around the impacts of nanoparticle properties on the efficacy of drug delivery in various cases
