This seminar includes a clinical presentation with patient interview followed by a research presentation.

Learning Objectives:

  • To review the current management and treatment of childhood medulloblastoma
  • To understand the clinical implications of medulloblastoma from a patient's point of view
  • To discuss recent evidence for the presence of a medulloblastoma stem cell that drives tumorigenesis in this malignant childhood tumor.
  • To understand how developmental signaling pathways may be aberrantly activated to cause this childhood brain tumour.
